our cheap date last week: grazing at the camden lock night market! all of the vendors were offering free samples so we had a progressive dinner, dessert first at the adorable cupcakes and shhht (hilarious name). they make tablets of chocolate (see top right), ginormous cookies and beautiful handmade cards. very cute owners too. we then settled on a “proper” dinner: amazing grilled cheese sandwiches from the frenchie. these sandwiches are on a whole new level – i had a similar (superior) one at kappacasein in borough market and i can’t stop thinking about these sourdough, leek & raclette filled wonders. then we waddled home. the rumour is they are making night markets a regular thing in 2013. i highly recommend going at night – it’s more sedate and romantic wandering through the stalls with a mulled wine at dusk.
