we had such a fun thanksgiving last night. we had guests from tennessee, texas, england, croatia, germany. our bellies were very full with deliciousness and we ended the night with a rousing game of international celebrity. hope you had a great day! happy thanksgiving!
a fun thing to do with your mom in london : high tea & a matinee. my mom had never seen a musical, so it was so fun taking her to see mamma mia (her favorite movie – adorable). you can score some great deals at the theatre websites that offer dinner or tea vouchers. the west end theatres are so beautiful and the show was so fun that everyone got up and danced!
my mom and i did so many fun things while she was here! one saturday we went to the north london vintage market (didn’t do as well as I did last time!) then we took the 134 bus to highgate for some lunch and shopping. at highgate ave & archway rd, you will find quarters cafe – a simple cafe with teas, cakes & asian noodle soups perfect for cold london days. this quaint cafe is curated with beautiful midcentury furnishings selected from their vintage store next door. i had the malaysian laksa; it was so warming and delicious.
don’t miss souvenir, the quaint shop/gallery a few doors down from quarters featuring illustrations, leather goods, jewelry, & textiles from british designers.
