I haven’t really been shopping but if I was, this is what I would be looking for. Call it my old age kicking in, but I have been gravitating to more vintage & quality items that will last. I do love trying out some trends every season and I think the high street stores are perfect for that. I also don’t have the money to invest in the things I really want. So I’m always looking for classic-to-me styles! Here’s what’s on my spring fashion radar.
VINTAGE LEVIs – 501s. I have had a pair of vintage boyfriend 501s since about 2007? But I want a pair like Jessica de Ruiter’s - tight, high rise, relaxed at the knee with a bit more ankle.
A-LINE SKIRTS – I love a good pencil, but I am really feeling the A-line lately, especially this imitation leather one from H&M for £15. I also love this blue & white print one from ASOS.
SLIP-ONS – I kept looking for the perfect black loafer or slip-on brogue, but I couldn’t find it in my price range. So I just bought a pair of all-black Vans slip ons (buy here). And they haven’t been off my feet since. There are some killer printed options out there at Asos, Zara, H&M - but I am just too boring for all that.
VEST / GILET – classic silhouette to make my jeans & t-shirt vibe look a bit more put together. Would also love to wear with my leather leggings in the fall. This one is from Mango.
SILK BASICS – Gorgeous, simple silhouettes in fabrics that last. Pieces that look good mixed in with trends season after season. Unassuming, timeless, flattering. Clothes that you wear, not clothes that wear you. Like this perfect Marlena blouse by Nashville designer Elizabeth Suzann.
